When is the Tour of Britain?
The Tour of Britain starts in September 2023, with the Grand Départ taking place in Altrincham on Sunday 3rd September. The first stage will mirror 2019's Final leg running from Altrincham to Manchester.
How many stages are in the Tour of Britain?
Since 2008, there have been eight stages of world class racing in the Tour of Britain and it will be the same for the 2023 edition.
Stage one of this year’s Tour of Britain will start in Altrincham, which was the start line for stage eight of the 2019 Tour of Britain.
Where does the Tour of Britain end?
In 2023, the Tour of Britain will end in the Wales. The eighth and final stage of the 2022 Tour of Britain will be a climactic chase around the south of Wales, running from Margam Country Park to Caerphilly.

Is the Tour of Britain on TV?
The Tour of Britain will be shown live, stage-by-stage on ITV4 and worldwide on both Eurosport and Global Cycling Network (GCN). If you miss any of the day’s action, ITV4 will also be showing highlights of the race every night.

What is the route for the Tour of Britain?
The Tour of Britain route starts in Altrinchamon Sunday 3rd September. The following day sees the first of two Welsh stages as the race heads to Wrexham. The Tour then crosses the border into England as the riders race from Goole to Beverley for stage three, before stage four takes the short trip from Sherwood Forest to Newark-on-Trent.
The Tour then runs a loop on the east coast as stage five starts and ends in Felixstowe before stage six takes the peloton from Southend-on-Sea to Harlow. Then, it’s time for a run through Gloucestershire for stage seven, before a thrilling finale from Margam Country Park to Caerphilly.
